St. Luke Lutheran Church is committed to spreading the word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the corners of the world, locally and in cyberspace.  Our church helps facilitate the following projects and services:

Bereavement Group at St. Luke - Beginning May 16, 2006, a bereavement support group, will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 1-2:30pm in the conference room at St. Luke.  The group will meet for 6 sessions.  The cost is $5 per session.

New "Mission A Month" Commitment
To promote a better awareness of the Ministries supported by St. Luke's, we will henceforth designate a "Mission of the Month."  Congregants will be informed about the ministry and its current activities, and donations from that month's Mission offering will be designated for that ministry.  Watch this page for more information on these ministries!

Easter Baskets
A current project for Lent is the distribution of Easter Baskets for poor children.  Congregants have the opportunity to pick up empty baskets and fill them with goodies for an individual child; either a boy or a girl.

"Sharing Bags" for Family Service League
St. Luke is working in tandem with Gloria Dei church in Huntington to collect "Sharing Bags" to be used by the Family Service League of Huntington, for homeless families who use their temporary shelter facilities.

The Family  Service League acts as a shelter in Suffolk County and the Town of Huntington for intact families.  The FSl provides homeless families an opportunity to regain their independence. By offering emergency and transitional housing, their clients can seek employment and permanent housing in a home-like atmosphere of respect and acceptance.  The Family Service League provides case management services to help residents become independent.
