In August, 2006 St. Luke hosted our very first family retreat at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island. We went to the beach, we rode bikes, we paddled the local waters, we had a big barbeque Saturday night and a campfire out back both Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday Morning we gathered outdoors and worshipped beneath the bright blue skies, and every evening gathered to witness God’s handiwork as shown in the East End sunsets.

The whole thing very quickly became like a big family reunion, and since everyone enjoyed it so much, we have reserved the house for next year to do it all again! If this looks appealing to you please keep an eye on the bulletin board and sign up to join in next year! 

Congratulations to Chelsea and Jim on their engagement during the retreat! We shouldn’t promise that something this great will happen every year, but it really was a time and place for good things.
